Articles for South Tampa Magazine

From February 2008 to September 2009, I was the senior writer for South Tampa Magazine (in print). While there, I pitched all of my own article ideas and was involved in every step of the publishing process, from photo shoots to graphic design and final proofing (AP Style).

Here are some of my favorite feature articles I wrote during this time. Just click on the images to view the full PDFs.

My first-ever food article, on a Tampa institution called the Colonnade. I most enjoyed sitting down with the staff for our Q&A.
This feature was for our holiday issue, and I fell in love with this military family. We ended up raising money to create care packages for local families.
I got to spend the day touring Stowers Elementary School and interviewing the man behind the name.
Probably my most embarrassing piece to date, my editor had me meet with a local matchmaker to see if there was hope for me and my 26-year-old broken heart.
