I started the Adventurous Appetite blog when I moved to South Korea in 2009, as a way to stay in touch with family. I had no idea what I was doing, and most of the first entries are like long Facebook posts! But, I kept at it off-and-on for about a decade before deciding to archive the website. Here are some of my favorite posts.
I actually got my first byline in 2006 when the St. Petersburg Times (now Tampa Bay Times) took a chance on a recent college graduate and published my personal essay on what it’s like to have ADHD. My second article was published six years later when I wrote a “small world” story about reuniting with a guy I met in the Beijing airport.
